At about 1214 UTC on Monday 10th July 2023, I tuned in to Radio Thailand broadcasting in the English language on 9940 kHz.

Radio Thailand is the public broadcasting radio station in Thailand owned by the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand based in Bangkok. It was founded on the 25th day of February 1930 and was known as Radio Bangkok.

The overall reception of Radio Thailand was good. There was a humming signal on the frequency.

Pyongyang Broadcasting Station – 6160 kHz

At about 1151 UTC on Sunday 9th July 2023, I tuned in to the Pyongyang Broadcasting Station (PBS), NORTH KOREA, broadcasting in the Korean language on 6160 kHz.

The overall reception of the Pyongyang Broadcasting Station was poor due to severe interference from China National Radio CNR 6 broadcasting on 6165 kHz.

HCJB, ECUADOR – 6050 kHz

At about 1134 UTC on Sunday 9th July 2023, I tuned in to HCJB ECUADOR, broadcasting in the Spanish language on 6050 kHz.

HCJB (World Radio Missionary Fellowship Inc-USA) stopped all shortwave operations in Ecuador during the late 2000s, In 2009 it handed over their shortwave transmitters in Quito to the voluntary organisation Asociacion Vozandes Media (AVM) which is not part of the HCJB organisation. AVM was founded by staff of the former Quito-based HCJB German language service and cooperates with the local HCJB FM station in Ecuador.

The overall reception of the HCJB was fair.

Solomon Island Broadcasting Corporation – 5020 kHz

At about 1343 UTC on Saturday 8th July 2023, I tuned in to the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation broadcasting in the English language on 5020 kHz.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC) is the official radio broadcaster of the Solomon Islands. The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation was founded in 1976, replacing the Solomon Islands Broadcasting System (SIBS).

Voice of Indonesia – 3325 kHz

At about 1315 UTC on Saturday 8th July 2023, I tuned in to the Voice of Indonesia broadcasting in the English language on 3325 kHz.

Indonesia declared its independence on the 17th day of August 1945. Soon after, M. Jusuf Ronodipuro and Dr. Abdulrahman Saleh, launched the Voice of Free Indonesia on the 23rd day of August 1945. In 1950, Voice of Free Indonesia was renamed the Voice of Indonesia.

Unknown – 2370 Khz

At about 1255 UTC on Saturday 8th July 2023, I tuned in to an Unknown station broadcasting on 2370 kHz.

I did not hear any announcers, just Greek music being played. Any help in identifying this station would be appreciated.

Unique Radio Australia is a non-commercial shortwave radio station that broadcasts on 5035 kHz and 3210 kHz. More information can be found on their website at…..

Radio Nacional da Amazonia – 6180 kHz

At about 0806 UTC on Saturday 8th July 2023, I tuned in to Radio Nacional da Amazonia BRAZIL, broadcasting in the Portuguese language on 6180 kHz.

Rádio Nacional da Amazônia was inaugurated on the 1st day of September 1977. It broadcasts on shortwave to the Amazon region with a potential 60 million listeners.

National Unity Radio – 7200

At about 1342 UTC on Friday 7th July 2023, I tuned in to National Unity Radio, SOUTH KOREA broadcasting in the Korean language on 7200 kHz.

National Unity Radio has been on air since December 2005, and was initially launched as Radio Free Chosun (RFC). On the 22nd day of October 2015, it was renamed National Unity Radio. The station is a project of the United States Congress-funded NGO unification media group, which was co-founded by RFC together with Open R. for North Korea (and two other South Korean media outlets) in November 2014.

The overall reception of National Unity Radio was poor. This was mostly due to an apparent jamming signal on the frequency.
