At about 1203 UTC on the 17th day of July 2024, I tuned in to the Voice of the Islamic Republic of Iran, broadcasting on 15240 kHz in the Arabic language.
The signal was coming from the Sirjan 500kW transmitter in Iran. (Short Wave Info 2023)
Above:- Map showing the location of Sirjan, Iran. Map c/o Google Maps.
The overall reception of the Voice of the Islamic Republic of Iran was fair. The signal strength was fair. There was interference from the Voice of America (VOA) transmitting on 14250 kHz in the Chinese language. There was only slight fading of the signal. There was only slight atmospheric noise on the band. Unfortunately, the interference from VOA affected listening pleasure of the broadcast.
