At about 1219 UTC on 9th March 2022, I tuned in to China Radio International broadcasting in the English language on 11980 kHz.

The broadcast was coming from Kumming-Anning 150 kW transmitter. The broadcast consisted of a discussion on the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the Global business program.

The overall reception of China Radio International was excellent.

QSL card received from Radio Prague International.

In the past couple of days in the mail I received another QSL card from Reach Beyond Australia for my reception of their station on 25th January 2022 and 3rd February 2022.

Here is a selection of some QSL cards that Marija Vk5MAZ and I have received in the past few weeks.

Over the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th March 2022, the 2022 ARRL DX Contest was held. The aim of the contest is for DX stations to make contact with W/VE stations.

Although I didn’t specifically compete in the contest, I did manage to make a total of 159 QSOs to the USA and Canada. The map below shows my contacts.

The majority of my contacts, a total of 116, were made on Saturday morning on the 10m band. Conditions on 10m into North America were brilliant.

At about 1109 UTC on 5th March 2022, I tuned in to Radio Vanuatu broadcasting in the Bislama ? language on 5040 kHz.

The broadcast was coming from Port Vila 2.5 kW transmitter.

The overall reception of Radio Vanuatu was fair. There were moderate static crashes on the band, and there was some interference from Bay Islands Radio on 5045 kHz.

At about 1508 UTC on 4th March 2022, I tuned in to Voice of America Deeewa broadcasting in the Pashto language on 13590 kHz.

The broadcast was coming from Lampertheim 100 kW transmitter in Germany.

The overall reception of VOA Deewa was excellent.

At about 1403 UTC on 4th March 2022, I tuned in to Trans World Radio India broadcasting in the Mawachi language on 12075 kHz.

The broadcast was coming from Yerevan-Gavar 300 kW transmitter in Armenia.

The overall reception of TWR India was excellent.

At about 1103 UTC on 4th March 2022, I tuned in to Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC) broadcasting in the English language on 5020 kHz.

The broadcast was coming from Honiara 10 kW transmitter. The broadcast consisted of the news broadcast followed by a stringed music program.

The overall reception of SIBC was fair.

This was a special broadcast frequency which the BBC put on air regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
